Springwood Hospitality's story began in 2007, marking a clear shift in strategic direction for the Springwood Companies. The appointment of Justin Shelton as President in 2009 ushered in an era of dynamic leadership and significant growth. By 2013, Springwood affiliates managed a diverse portfolio exceeding 1.25 million square feet, encompassing hotels, commercial spaces, and residential units.
A strategic decision in 2015 to divest non-hotel business units allowed Springwood to streamline operations and focus exclusively on the hospitality sector. This move enabled a more specialized and targeted approach to hotel development and management. Justin Shelton's acquisition of Springwood Hospitality from David Hogg in 2022 further cemented his leadership and elevated him to CEO, reinforcing his commitment to the company's continued growth.
Today, Springwood specializes in developing and managing Hilton and Marriott branded hotels, adhering to the highest standards of excellence, efficiency, and ethical business practices. With a focused approach to projects within a 300-mile radius of its York, PA headquarters, Springwood has firmly established itself as a leading force in the hospitality industry.
Dave brought more than 20 years of real estate development expertise to Springwood Hospitality when he started the company in 2006. He continues to serve Springwood in an Emeritus role.
Deeply committed to the communities they serve, Dave and his wife Barb established the Dave & Barb Hogg Charitable Fund. This fund ensures their legacy of philanthropic support will continue to make a difference for years to come. He has long been involved in free-market activities and numerous other charitable causes, including the founding of New Life Presbyterian Church in Red Lion, PA. Dave has always been a “car guy.” He raced several seasons in BMW CCA Club Racing, where he won the Northeast Regional championship in his class.
Dave received his bachelor’s degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver and his master’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Urban Geography from the University of Arizona, where he also completed his Marketing Ph.D. coursework.
Dave and Barb Hogg's vision for supporting the communities where Springwood Hospitality operates became a reality in 2023 with the establishment of their donor-advised fund, dedicated to providing relief and support to those in distress.
In 2024, this fund proudly distributed $50,000 to 20 incredible local organizations! This significant contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to "Leading from the Heart" and supporting the communities where our hotels operate.
Our hotel teams played a vital role in this process, nominating charities that are close to their hearts and make a real difference in their areas. This local focus ensures that the funds are directed to where they can have the greatest impact.
